Current site / Redesign

Same restaurant.
A different experience.

Captured at the same desktop viewport. The redesign remains a private, uncommissioned proposal while its owner presentation is pending.

Responsive delivery / 390—1440+

One experience.
Every screen.

The mobile version is not the desktop page squeezed smaller. Hierarchy, navigation, imagery, and actions are recomposed for the space available while preserving the same character.

01 / The premise

Build the pitch.
Don’t just describe it.

Bonez already has the ingredients of a memorable brand: Crested Butte energy, Día de los Muertos references, a deep tequila program, group events, and a room built for a good night. The redesign organizes those ingredients without sanding off their personality.

02 / Design decisions

What changed.
And why.

01

Character

Bring the room’s calaveras, folk-art influence, color, and mountain-town mischief forward as the organizing creative idea.

02

Action

Make menus, reservations, takeout, and the waitlist immediate while giving each path a clear place in the experience.

03

Occasion

Turn the story, group dining capacity, press, and Elk Avenue location into reasons to choose Bonez—not just information at the bottom of a page.

03 / Design evidence

A redesign.
Not a reskin.

Each visual decision answers something observed in the existing experience. The comparison is less about decoration and more about what the website asks guests to notice and do.

01First impression
Observed

The current site provides utility, but reveals little of the atmosphere guests encounter inside Bonez.

Design response

Texture, color, type, and composition make the restaurant’s energy visible before a guest reads the details.

02Primary actions
Observed

Menus, reservations, takeout, and waitlist access compete within a conventional site structure.

Design response

High-intent actions stay immediate and distinct, with hierarchy based on what a guest is trying to do now.

03Reason to choose
Observed

Group dining, the tequila program, story, and location sit behind the basic restaurant information.

Design response

Those details become part of the proposition—reasons to choose Bonez for a night, a group, or a Crested Butte visit.

04 / Current status

A real build.
An open conversation.

This is independent concept work, not commissioned client work. The website is complete enough for a private demonstration, with presentation and commercial discussions still pending.
